Entrust Your Child to Our VPK Program

Get your child the customized education they need at Sonrise Academy. Located in Cape Coral, Florida, we offer VPK, day care, and after-school care.

Infant Program

The infant program is individualized to every child's schedule to make sure their needs are met. Infants are introduced to a variety of experiences to help them grow and develop as part of the curriculum-directed daily program. These experiences include:

Art | Dramatic Play | Music | Outside Experiences | Reading | Sensory

Toddler Program

Our toddler program is for 1- and 2-year-olds. The curriculum, Beyond Cribs and Rattles, guides children as they grow developmentally. Children are encouraged to explore and experience the world so they can become more familiar with their surroundings.

Preschool Program

Prepare your preschooler for elementary school with our hands-on program. Our preschool program is designed to meet the developmental needs of children 3 to 5 years old. Preschool children are curious about the world around them and learn best when they are active. Our teachers guide them in meaningful play experiences that allow them to explore and observe their environment. By utilizing the award-winning curriculum InvestiGator Club, our teachers are better prepared to guide them through these formative years. The InvestiGater Club: Just for Threes and the InvestiGator Club for Fours (which follows Florida's VPK state standards) offer each age group the appropriate benchmarks they need to be successful in school.

Learning Through Play

Play is not a break from work for children; play is their work. It is how they explore the world, learn new skills, and practice what they have learned; it is how they imitate life. Children are given the opportunity to participate in large and small group activities to learn new concepts. We set up choice center time, which lets your children experience the world, practice what they learned, and discover new skills. During choice center time, children are exposed to different learning centers such as:

  • Arts
  • Reading
  • Block Stacking
  • Science and Discovery
  • Writing
  • Dramatic Play
  • Math
  • Music and Movement

Environmental changes are made to the different learning centers in order to guide the children's play. Teachers foster learning by providing daily experiences that motivate the children to learn and investigate.
